Drives
AIT drives are perfect for entry-level users learning fundamental backup and archival practices, or users currently performing backups or archival with other lower capacity tape products. Drives are available from 40 GB to 400 GB native (104 GB to 1.04 TB compressed*) configurations. Choose from SCSI, SATA, USB, ATAPI interfaces

Autoloaders
If you need even higher capacity than that provided by a single AIT drive and automation, Sony offers single-drive autoloaders with capacity for up to eight data cartridges in a choice of convenient space saving desktop or ultra-slim 19" rack mount designs. AIT tape storage autoloaders are ideal for entry-level, workgroup, departmental and small business environment automated backups

Libraries
For greater capacity and higher performance, Sony AIT tape libraries offer up to 16 cartridge capacities, which can mean up to 16.64TB of compressed* storage that can support multiple drives for exceptionally fast data transfer rate.

Sony’s AIT format is intelligently engineered to stand apart - no other tape cartridge features both an MIC chip (the brains) and a pure metal magnetic layer designed for maximum capacity and longevity (the brawn).

Autoloaders
  • Extremely durable Advanced Metal Evaporated (AME) media – provides a virtually contamination-free environment reducing the need for periodic cleaning, and is extraordinarily reliable.
  • Sophisticated data access capability with the optional Memory-In-Cassette (MIC), a 64-kbit memory chip embedded into the data cartridge – provides high speed file location and file access
  • Write Once, Read Many (WORM) functionality – provides added security reducing the likelihood that recorded data can be maliciously or inadvertently erased or altered.
  • DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) Coating – protects the tape surface with a smooth carbon coating that is nearly as hard as diamond and 20 times harder than metal oxides for maximum reliability and media life.
