Hitachi Ultrastar

Hitachi Ultrastar drives offer proven reliability to protect data in mission critical applications, a stable design for fast and easy integration and Rotational Vibration Sensor (RVS) technology for great performance in multiple drive designs.

Ultrastar drives are available in Ultra SCSI, SAS, Fibre Channel and SATA interfaces with capacities up to 1TB and rotational speeds up to 15,000 RPM for the flexibility in design that you need.

Raising the bar on performance and capacity for mission critical storage, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies’ Ultrastar 15K450 is the first enterprise hard drive to use perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) technology to deliver 450GB of storage, currently the highest available capacity in 15,000 RPM enterprise-class hard drives.

The Ultrastar 15K450 is a performance leader, with Hitachi tests indicating a 30 percent improvement in sequential throughput over its predecessor. The drive features average seek times as low as 3.3 milliseconds and the fast rotational speeds reduce average latency time to 2 milliseconds, enabling customers to access data more quickly and efficiently.
